Why ayoka?

The name ayoka is of African origin, from the Yoruba language, and is a girl’s name that is particularly widespread in Nigeria.

Translated, the name means “that brings joy to all”, which is also the mission of our start-up – to bring joy to people.

With ayoka, we want to give something back to people – the courage to go their own way and break out of the crowd. But also to show them a way to find creativity and simply enjoy every moment, because ayoka is more than just a drink. It is an attitude to life between individualism, joie de vivre and maximum creativity.

How do you come up with something like that?

Social security and quality of life are at their peak in our latitudes, yet more people are drifting away from their dreams and passions and becoming unhappy. For us, this raises the question of why. Why do people squeeze themselves into a mold just to fit a societal image, even if it makes them unhappy? The biological origin of happiness, or “good mood”, comes from our happiness hormones, primarily serotonin and dopamine. In order to do justice to current social developments, a drink that has the added benefit of boosting mood seemed perfect to us. With this drink, we want to start exactly where our happiness comes from, namely with the happiness hormones. With a Good Mood Drink. However, the brand is intended to stand for more than just the hedonistic need to “feel good” and is not a conventional “beverage brand”. ayoka stands in contrast to our conformist social system, which suppresses individualism and creativity, and is intended to give people the courage to be themselves again. The courage to go their own way and to strive for perfection and satisfaction. Because at the end of the day, everyone has the right to be happy.

ayoka – the only Good Mood Drink

The sun plays an immense role in the release of serotonin and is also essential for the production of vitamin D. In Western and Central Europe in particular, this important factor is usually absent for several weeks during the fall and winter months, especially for working people. As a result, a significant proportion of the population falls into a so-called “autumn depression” or “winter depression”.

Happiness hormones play a key role in a person’s well-being. If the natural hormone balance in the human body is not sufficiently developed, this often has profound consequences for behavior. Insufficient sleep, too little sunlight and poor nutrition have a particularly negative effect on the production of happiness hormones. This often leads to a lack of motivation, lack of ideas, listlessness and a general reduction in quality of life.
